Hello, I'm Alicia. It's so nice to virtually meet you! I am a Board-Certified and Accredited Music Therapist, as well as, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
I created Whole Tone Therapy with a mission to see people transformed by creative arts and therapeutic relationship. I believe that engaging with the arts has a way of breaking barriers and giving people the motivation to overcome.
I've been in love with music for my whole life. From a young age, I knew I wanted to use it to help people heal. With this focus in mind, I completed an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree from McMaster University, as well as, a Master of Music Therapy Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. I was trained in music-centred psychotherapy and completed extra training in other therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness techniques.
In educative and therapeutic contexts, I've had the incredible opportunity to work with children, teens, and adults with a variety of complex needs and mental health concerns.
I am rooted in a holistic approach to wellness and firmly believe that music is an outward expression of the inner self. My life calling is to see people grow, heal, and find out who they truly are.
