Hello, I'm Alicia. It is truly so wonderful to virtually meet you!
I am a Certified Music Therapist with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT), and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
I created Whole Tone Therapy with a mission to see people transformed by creative arts and therapeutic relationship. I believe that engaging with the arts has a way of breaking barriers and giving people the motivation to overcome.
I've been in love with music for my whole life. From a young age, I knew I wanted to use it to help people heal. I hold a Master's degree in Music Therapy, with an emphasis in psychotherapy, from Wilfrid Laurier University. I have also completed training in other therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness techniques.
In educative and therapeutic contexts, I've had the incredible opportunity to work with children, teens, and adults with a variety of complex needs and mental health concerns. Teens and young adults have now become my primary focus in therapy. In addition to working in private practice, I also work at Homewood Health Centre, supporting individuals with various complex mental health concerns such as PTSD, eating disorders, and addictions.
I am rooted in a holistic approach to wellness and firmly believe that music is an outward expression of the inner self. My life calling is to see people grow, heal, and find out who they truly are.
